Vang Vieng!!
Well, we had enough adventure in Luang Prabang and was told that there was alot more "adventure" in Vang Vieng, so the 12 of us hired a minibus, which turned out to be a little more cramped than was suggested. We paid around 80 bucks between us, and got what we paid for basically. No worries, night bus, as we chise when to leave, when to stop to smoke, and we arrived at around 7am. Ideal, we were back in a guesthouse bed within 8 hours.
Everybody slept a while, but I was more interested in seeing where I was, I hadn't seen anything as was passed out on the way in to Vang Vieng, so was interested to see where I was, I had felt pressure change along the way in the van, so knew we were elevated,a nd then the scenery must show this. So off I went.
Vang Vieng is a cool hangout where people get stoned and go trekking to see caves and float down the river, or kayak, or rock climbing. All of these things, as I think the town itself is built purely for tourism, as the landscape has so much to offer. As the photos show.
The group was now slowly splitting up, people had different needs etc. So Amy and I moved to a place right on the river. with amazing views of the granite rocks, or cliff type mountain thingy!!! You can see for yourself, big enough for a mountain, but really just a huge rock. Plenty of them too. What a captivating view, and the small island had a nice bar which was fairly popular. For a while.
